edGeCut

edGeCut is a electro Acoustic project by Ish S (Sound Reasons). The music can be described as a mixture of acoustic compositions arranged with synthetic electronic sounds that build crystalline shimmering layered music and sonic spaces. These live sets have their share of acoustic instrumentation ranging from Guitar and vocals to flute and percussions. Ish has studied Western Classical guitar and then moved into Latin American and Jazz music. These Influences and those of electronic music can be heard in the edGeCut ‘live sets’

He has composed for contemporary dance recitals, films and theater and and has made sound installations some of which have been exhibited and performed in Queen Elizabeth Hall/ London, Theater Gessnerallee/ Zurich, Dampfzentrale/ Bern, Kulturzentrum Schützenmatt/ Olten, London College of Communication, Khoj Artists Workshop, Theater Phoenix / Steckborn, Capstone Theater Liverpool Hope University to name a few.

edGeCut performed at electron festival/Geneva, Art Basel, M Bar – BeatWave Festiva in Helsinki, Electrogonner Vienna, Estonia, Goethe Institut/ Max Mueller Bhawan, F+F Schule fur Kunst und Medien / Zurich, Mahem in Copenhagen, Inter Arts Center. Malmo, Blue Frog/ Mumbai, The British Council, Ignite festival for Dance.

Ish Shehrawat is a Composer, sound artist and Producer from Delhi. He studied Classical guitar at the Delhi school of Music and then later ventured into Jazz, Latin and electronic music. His other music and Sound Art and music projects in collaboration with Ryuta K and Konrad Bayer are 4^th World Orchestra, diF(diF.fuSeD beats). He has also collaborated with Artists like are Hans Koch, Zuleikha Allana Chaudhari, Raqs Media Collective, Konrad Becker (monoton), Yann Marussich and Vivan Sundaram. In 2009 he founded a music label called ‘Sound Reasons’ to promote Avant garde and electronic music and released their compilation ‘t0′ the same year. He has mixed and produced music for a number of Artists. He has released a CD of his project diFfuSed beats on Sound Reasons in August 2012 along with an EP on Entity records. He is presently working on his new album for the project ‘edGeCut’ and curates the Sound Reasons Festival for Sound Art and Electronic music in Delhi in the months of November and December.

Inhabited Geometry tours Europe | Music Composed by Ish S + diFfuSed beats |

Another dance recital called Inhabited Geometry for which Ish Shehrawat(Ish S) and diFfuSed beats have composed music for is touring various dance festivals and will be presented at the following venues in Europe in 2014. The piece is choreographed by Mandeep Raikhy. All dates are for 2014

Performances of ‘Within’ a dance recital by Aditi Mangaldas’ Dance Company in Bombay, London and Germany | Music composed by Ish Shehrawat + diFfuSed beats for the contemporary section ‘Knotted’ |

Aditi Mangaldas’s dace recital Within is touring London along with some dates in Germany. Again the music scored for this piece is by Ish S and diFfuSed beat, plus this was produced at Sound Reasons. The classical section is composed by Mahesh Vinayakaram.
