In association with the Korean Cultural Centre – New Delhi, we present the Sound Reasons’ PRELUDE SESSION – I
This is the first of the Sound Reasons Prelude Session featuring live performances and artist conversations with Viv Corringham, Cathy Lane & Ish S. We will also release the Sound Reasons ‘Double Live album’ called Alchemy which was recorded in Delhi in 2014. This was produced at Sound Reasons.
The evening will feature a couple of artist talks followed up with Live performances along with a listening session through some sound installations and live recording sessions produce at Sound Reasons. The first half will feature works of Cathy Lane (UK) and Viv Corringham (UK/USA) who will be presenting a programme of two multi-channel performance works using voice and recorded sound to explore ideas of presence and absence, place and displacement.
The second half will comprise of a couple listening sessions of spatial sound installations by Ish S / diFfuSed beats and an excerpt from the live album Alchemy. This album features Senking, diatribe, feldermelder, Lars Lundehave Hansen, diFfuSed beats (Ish S ) and Thomas Peter. The Sound Installations here are created by Ish S and these installations are about listening and the subjective experiences derived. It is a sort of sonic heterotopia wherein various experiences are created which are a part of both the imagination and reality. The sound here is actually created spatially in the listening of it and in its inventions is in the imagination of the listener. Here, the sound develops spatially and its discovery unfolds itself in the present, bringing with it the experiences of sound and listening as an immersive spatial sculpture.
