Ish S is presenting a Sound Installations as a part of the EPISODO – Sound Reasons, at the YOKOHAMA TRIENNALE 2020. This is the first in the Sound Reasons series to be held in Japan. Dates: September 16 – 27, 2020 *Closed: September 17 and 24. Ish Shehrawat (Ish S) is a composer, sound artist, curator and musician from New Delhi/ India. His primary field of interests are ‘Sound Art and Installation‘, along with ‘electro-acoustic music’, and he has been presenting some of his works as Sound Installations and mixed media works. He is trained as a classical Guitar Player and as an electronic musician/ composer produces creative works under different pseudonyms and projects like – edGeCut, diFfused beats, Khayali pulao and 4th World Orchestra, he creates, collaborates and produces a wide spectrum of music and sounds ranging from Jazz to classical and from ambient to experimental electronic music and has developed his own style over a period of time. He has produced various sound art installations, albums and composed music for independent short films, plays, performances and Contemporary Dance Recitals. In 2009 he founded the music label called Sound Reasons to promote contemporary and electronic music and have released a number of albums since then. |

Ish SHEHRAWAT (Ish S) and Indonesian artist Venzha CHRIST present their sound installations as a part of the EPISODO - Sound Reasons, at the Lecture Hall of the Yokohama Museum of Art. This is the first in the Sound Reasons series to be held in Japan.

We will be doing various other events with and before the installation dates like live performances, radio shows, talks etc. Please refer to the website and this space for updates.
This installation is based on Indian Classical music’s melodic intervals and reflects the same by over layering sound fields and movement of sound within the installation.

LIVE SET – edGeCut
edGeCut is a electro Acoustic project by Ish S (Sound Reasons). The music can be described as a mixture of acoustic compositions arranged with synthetic electronic sounds that build crystalline shimmering layered music and sonic spaces. These live sets have their share of acoustic instrumentation ranging from Guitar and vocals to flute and percussions. Ish has studied Western Classical guitar and then moved into Latin American and Jazz music. These Influences and those of electronic music can be heard in the edGeCut ‘live sets’
He has performed at the elecktron @ Fete De la Musiqe’ in Geneva, Art Basel and at F+F Schule fur Kunst und Medien Design in Zurich. In India he has performed in Olives, Vie, F Bar, Athena, The American center, Rain, Blue Frog, Goethe Institue and British Council Library. He has installed sound as a solo Artist and in collaboration in the Action field Kodra, Greece / Centre Pompidou , Paris / London College of Communication, London / National Gallery of Modern Art , Delhi – India / Sarai-CSDS / Project 88, Mumbai etc

Another dance recital called Inhabited Geometry for which Ish Shehrawat(Ish S) and diFfuSed beats have composed music for is touring various dance festivals and will be presented at the following venues in Europe in 2014. The piece is choreographed by Mandeep Raikhy. All dates are for 2014

Aditi Mangaldas’s dace recital Within is touring London along with some dates in Germany. Again the music scored for this piece is by Ish S and diFfuSed beat, plus this was produced at Sound Reasons. The classical section is composed by Mahesh Vinayakaram.
